2s bowlers toil in the sunshine

Saturday saw Torrance House XI host Uddingston’s 2nd XI in the Presmier reserve division.

Uddingston won the toss and elected to bat on what was a soft wicket. The EK side we're struggling in the field with only 8 players to start with, 2 of which who were injured. The Uddingston side took advantage of this and by the time the bowlers go into their rhythm the batsmen were in full flow with Gowtham Rai and Ryan Dunne scoring centuries. Finishing on 351-5. Notable figures from Nick Ralphs and Iftikhar Khan, 1-39 and 2-51 respectively. Also, a nice effort from new bowler Gaurav Rajmohan with figures of 2-52.

The batting started off well with a great partnership between Glenn Taylor and Alan Meikle, with some elegant shots however, after the partnership was broken there was a fatal collapse leaving the side 112 all out. Fergus Clarke taking a 4 for, for the Uddingston side. A dissapoining result for the East Kilbride side, where the game was lost in the first half.
